We welcome children into our Nursery the term after they turn 3 years old. Please contact us to enquire about current Nursery place availability. You can register your interest by contacting our school office either by email or telephone. This is not an application, only an expression of interest.
We follow the Leeds City Council Early Years Admission Guidance. If you are allocated a place, we will then contact you in the term prior to your child’s admission date to arrange a visit to our nursery. Parents of children attending nursery are required to follow the Leeds procedures for applying for a Reception class place. Please note a place in our Nursery does not guarantee a place in our school.
We encourage all parents to visit the school with their child/children in preparation for applying for a place. Please ring the school office to arrange an appointment. The school’s current admission number for each year group is 20.
The admissions authority for Micklefield C of E Primary School is Leeds Local Authority. The criteria for admissions, including details about oversubscription criteria, are outlined on the Leeds City Council website: www.leeds.gov.uk. Admissions applications for Reception can be made online at: www.leeds.gov.uk/admissions. For further information you can ring the School Admissions Department on 0113 222 4414. For admission to any other year group, please contact the school directly.
Leeds Admissions Policy gives priority in the following order:
- Children in public care or fostered under an arrangement made by the local authority.
- Children with older brothers or sisters who will be at school at the start of the academic year and are living at the same address.
- Parents who put their nearest school to their home address as first choice (priority will be given to those nearest the school as measured in a straight line).
- Parents who choose a Leeds school which is not the nearest to their home address (priority will be given to those nearest the school as measured in a straight line).

Admission Arrangements for Pupils Year 1 to Year 6
If your child is already of school age, please contact the school to arrange an appointment with the headteacher at a mutually convenient time. You will also need to obtain a copy of the In Year Common Preference Form from the school office or download it from the Admissions Section of Leeds City Council. If you would like a place, return the form to school, ensuring you ask for a receipt. We will inform you within a few days if there is a place available.
